Free scope and date check

Your next assessment, read against the record.

The check uses your role, your accreditation status and two dates. It returns one of five readings and names the missing answer rather than guessing. It never returns a compliance score.

Start with your dates

Six answers, computed from the record in your browser. Nothing is sent or stored.

1. What do you certify?

The next scheduled assessment or surveillance visit. Leave blank if not known.

Leave blank if the certificate has no expiry or you are applying.

5. Is one person named as the transition owner?
6. Does a certification mark continue in use after the initial certificate?
See what changed

Not legal advice; does not certify. This is a planning reading from your answers, not a compliance result or a decision on accreditation. The planning date is an estimate with its basis stated in the result.

The revision

The three changes the FDIS foreword states.

  • Terminology updated to ISO/IEC 17000.
  • In subclause 8.8, preventive actions replaced by actions to address risks and opportunities.
  • Bibliographic references updated and corrected.

Those are the only substantive changes the public record states. The clause titles and numbering are public. The text behind them is not held, so this site separates what is recorded from what applies today. Read the full revision record.

What the public contents adds

Annex ZA (informative) relates the European Standard to Regulation (EC) No 765/2008. The titles at 6.1 and 6.2 carry subclauses. Clause 8.8 carries the new title.

What this site will not do

It will not quote the FDIS, invent its wording, or call the planning date a deadline. When the text is published, the refresh script sees the change and the record is rebuilt.

The clause record

One page for every clause in the public FDIS structure.

44 pages: 36 normative clauses from 4 to 8 and 8 informative annex pages. Each page states the requirement that applies today, the evidence an assessor asks for, the common failures and the preparation step.

All normative clauses in the public FDIS contents, with the draft status recorded on this site.

Questions

What buyers ask first.

Is ISO/IEC 17065:2012 still the edition in force?

Yes. The public ISO record lists ISO/IEC FDIS 17065 as a draft in the approval stage and says it will replace ISO/IEC 17065:2012. Until the new edition is published, the 2012 edition is what an accreditation assessment uses.

What is the key date for the ISO 17065 revision?

The planning date on this site is 15 February 2027. It is an estimate, 120 days from the build date, derived from ISO stage 50.20. ISO has not announced a publication date. The public FDIS cover states that voting terminates on 27 October 2026.

What changed in ISO/IEC FDIS 17065?

The public foreword states three main changes: terminology updated to ISO/IEC 17000, subclause 8.8 preventive actions replaced by actions to address risks and opportunities, and bibliographic references updated and corrected. The FDIS requirement wording is not held, so this site does not state it.

Who is this for?

The quality, accreditation or technical manager of a body certifying products, processes or services. The scope in clause 1 names those bodies. Scheme owners, accreditation bodies and regulators can read the record, but the free check is written for a certification body.

What is in the USD 149 kit?

The full obligation register for all 36 normative clauses and 8 annex pages, the evidence list an assessor asks for, and a dated plan, exported as PDF, CSV and XLSX. One payment, no subscription.

What does the USD 19 a month watch do?

It emails you when the ISO record, the public FDIS structure, the guidance or a recorded date changes. The refresh script diffs the public record against the data file and the email carries the diff. It does not send marketing.

Who wrote this

Gerard Blokdyk, The Art of Service.

I build compliance records that state each requirement in plain English and point to the clause behind it. This record was written from the held 2012 text and the public FDIS record on 20 October 2026. It is not affiliated with ISO or IEC, and it does not certify anyone.

About the record and the method

The rules this is built from

Nothing here is invented. ISO 17065 Revision Checker reads the rule listed below and every answer points to the clause it came from. The requirement substance is the 2012 edition that remains in force. The public FDIS record supplies the draft structure and the three stated changes; its requirement wording is not held.
