What it watches
The diff, not a newsletter.
The refresh script re-reads the ISO RSS record and the public sample. It compares the designation, the title, the stage, the stage date, the committee, the ICS and the sample hash with the record. The sample hash covers the cover, contents, foreword and voting dates. When something changes, the watch email carries the difference and the date.
- Stage and stage date changes on the ISO record
- Publication of the new edition
- Changes to the public contents and the clause map
- Changes to the sample cover, contents, foreword or voting dates, through the sample hash
- The planning date when the record is re-dated

What it cannot do
It cannot report a change that ISO has not published. It does not watch your accreditation body's private decisions, and it does not replace the written question you should ask your accreditation body about the assessment basis.
Why the diff matters
A stage code moving from 50.20 to 50.60 is the signal that the ballot has closed. A publication is the signal to read the text and re-date the plan. You want that on the day, not in a quarterly summary.
