The edition in force is ISO/IEC 17065:2012. A second edition is at the Final Draft International Standard stage, ISO/IEC FDIS 17065:2026, and has not been published.
The latest published edition is ISO/IEC 17065:2012. The ISO record for standard 94443 lists ISO/IEC FDIS 17065 as edition 2, 29 pages, at stage 50.20, proof sent to secretariat or FDIS ballot initiated. The public cover states that voting begins on 4 August 2026 and terminates on 27 October 2026. The record says the draft will replace ISO/IEC 17065:2012. Until publication, the 2012 edition is what an accreditation assessment uses. A certificate cannot be issued against the new edition before it exists.
Can I be certified to the FDIS now?
No. A draft is not a published standard, and an accreditation body cannot accredit against an unpublished edition. You can prepare, and you can be assessed against the 2012 edition.
When will it be published?
ISO has not announced a date. This site uses 15 February 2027 as a planning estimate derived from stage 50.20, and labels it as an estimate wherever it appears.
Where this comes from
The clause record states each requirement in our own words and cites the clause. The revision page separates the public FDIS record from the edition in force. The official record is ISO standard 94443.
Not legal advice; does not certify. The FDIS requirement wording is not held and is not stated.
