Keep the 2012 requirements live, build the risk and opportunity register now, refresh impartiality and competence files, and ask your accreditation body in writing which edition will apply.
Start with the work that does not depend on the unpublished text. Keep the preventive action process compliant under the 2012 edition. Build a risk and opportunity register beside it, with a method, owners, decisions, actions and an effectiveness review. Refresh the impartiality risk register and the personnel declarations. Separate the 2012 documents from the new edition in document control so the two do not mix. Put the replacement on the internal audit programme and the management review agenda. Ask the accreditation body in writing which edition will apply at the next assessment and what evidence it will sample. Record the answer and its date. Do not claim a certificate against the new edition before publication and accreditation.
Do we have to wait for the published text?
No. The impartiality, competence, risk register, document control and accreditation conversation can all start now. Waiting compresses the work into the publication window.
What if our certificate expires before publication?
Plan the renewal against the edition in force and ask the accreditation body which edition will apply. The free check returns this reading when the expiry is before the planning date.
Where this comes from
The clause record states each requirement in our own words and cites the clause. The revision page separates the public FDIS record from the edition in force. The official record is ISO standard 94443.
Not legal advice; does not certify. The FDIS requirement wording is not held and is not stated.
